History of ResNet.

The ResNet service was launched by ICT Services in early 2005 to support the residential community at St Leonards. Initially students accessed the Internet via the academic network using their own computers.

2007 the service was extended and improved by providing each residential area with its own independent Internet access facility using its own network infrastructure.

2008 sees the introduction of a fully funded bespoke IT technical and support service aimed at providing residential students with a start-to-finish IT solution and parents with the knowledge that all IT related issues can be resolved in-house by a specialist team of highly qualified and experienced IT engineers.

2011 Additional investment will see the progressive roll out of Virtual Desktop Access for the residential community to the Academic network. This service will allow students to access their school work, school email service and educational resources securely via the internet from anywhere in the world.
